Welcome to Jessica Jayne's Interior world!

Hi i'm Jessica, the face behind Jessica Jayne Design. I've always had a love for wallpaper design and i'm very much looking forward to introducing you into my interior design world.

Where it all started.

I've had an interest in design since studying art and textiles at GCSE in high school. I felt myself drawn to pattern design in particular when my art teacher introduced it to me. I have always wanted to be creative in my day to day life 'If i could be paid to draw all day i'd be happy' so going to study surface pattern & printed textiles design was inevitable. It took me a couple of steps to get there from studying all creative A levels and then on to doing my Art Foundation year, before I could head off to one of the best universities for studying this subject, Leeds Arts University. The three years taught me so much about the industry and the history behind print design, I naturally ended up focusing on wallpaper and interior design. Here's me (photo above) standing at my end of year degree show. I feel over the years since graduating in 2013 my skills and style has changed and most certainly developed, which has lead me to my designs today.

What inspires me

From day one nature and the natural world has been a huge inspiration. My love for plants and animals never ends. I find myself immersed in the natural worlds they thrive in, I can thank Sir David Attenborough for that. I wrote my dissertation on this subject too, 'How the natural world has impacted design today'. I loved it and loved looking into Charles Darwen and his discoveries. These day's I find myself researching specific areas of the world and most recently looking into the once's I have experienced for myself. A three month traveling adventure in 2015 allowed me to experience so many cultures and witness so many animals in Asia, I today still love to draw them. At the moment i'm looking into Boreo, a stunning place full of forestry and wildlife. I was lucky enough to see many animals in the wild including endangered ones, this is also a topic I am passionate about.

Starting Jessica Jayne Design

For many year's i've dreamt of having my own business, my own brand and visibility in the market. It was never the right time. I've had many experiences in the design industry, which has endabled me to have a great skillset but it was never right and never really felt like I was at my true potential. So in 2021 I started Jessica Jayne Design, and by mid-way through the year I launched my first wallpaper design. From then on i've developed my brand and added more designs to my collection, hoping to add more throughout 2022. The design process started off with myself designing for my own home, which I had recently bought and done up the year prior, I always knew I wanted to design my own wallpaper for my own home, so really that small dream is what's fed this bigger one. I am very much just at the start of my wallpaper empire and honestly can not wait to see where the future of Jessica Jayne takes me!
